Although Hermione made a valiant effort not to make her personal opinion of every Council speech prior be known, there was a clear expression of surprise and dismay that crossed her face during James Cook's speech, and as she stepped up to the podium, there were a few notecards left underneath her chair that she did not take with her. Glancing at the audience, she gave a smile, one slightly more stern and offered with a look of determination, before she cleared her throat to begin the speech ( ... )

The Council secures weapons and valuables, oversees day-to-day affairs, leads coordination in the event of an emergency. Our voices settle matters ranging from attempted bombings to the initial decisions regarding the exploration of an entire city, chaotic and dangerous, which appeared perilously close to our precious community.
