It was the best thing she had going for her, though. There was Annie, of course, who was a good friend in spite of their bickering, which had only increased with their moving in together, and there was Jeff, but God, she didn't know how she felt about Jeff nine times out of ten. Most of the time she thought it was fine, they were friends, albeit ones who antagonized each other, but the further she was able to put that night at the dance behind her, the harder it got to ignore the twinges she sometimes got, remembering why she'd been so attracted to him to begin with. She wouldn't have wished him away, but sometimes she thought life without Jeff Winger in it would have been a hell of a lot easier. "It's an exciting life."
