Which would be why she just had to get a text from Merlin. Who still hadn't figured out how to turn the song off.

Buh. Link. Buh...link. Bliiink.

You know the problem with hand gestures that can't possibly be anything dirtier than what they're actually intended to mean? They may in fact cause brains trained to think he can't possibly mean that to start spitting sparks and smoke.

"Like that one time you--" Merlin, you're only making it worse. "--and then I--from chapter 12?"

Smoke, sparks, grinding of gears. "Yes! I GET it!" Only now she got it with pictures and full memory-provided sens-surround, thank you so very much.

Merlin cleared his throat and stared into his ice cream container. "Yes."

A beat.

"...wait, did it hurt for you?"

Francine's ice cream was rapidly becoming an unintentional milkshake. "...Not exactly the same thing!"

Not exactly an answer.

Ears! There had been grabbing of ears!

Oh God, this was such a weird weird weird weird weird weird weird she could stop thinking weird anytime now conversation.

"Honey, you blew out the electricity and moved the furniture. Trust me, it was the last thing I was thinking about afterwards."

At what point during the repeated weirds did this become something she could slash had to laugh about?

"Right." Merlin frowned and poked at the ice cream. "We're a strange lot."

"Maybe we're normal and everybody else is strange." No, she didn't remotely believe that. "...Or not."

There were now cookie dough chunks floating in hers.

"Did you like it? Aside from the weird?"

Merlin tried to smother himself again, but there was a very faint 'yes' in there somewhere.

"Well...good." Francine was relieved to find she meant that. sort of relieved. She'd hate to think they were both stuck in Remedial Reading. "That's good. Isn't it?"

"I think so," Merlin replied. "It's just... weird."

Francine was either going to have to treat this as ice cream soup or just suck it up and go find a straw to suck it up with. She stirred the carton pointlessly with her spoon, not making eye contact with... the pillow, right.

"Is it just the boy parts--" Ksdjfhsdkjfhkljh she was going to go steal Katchoo's pillow now thank you except that would require moving. "BOY PART, or other weird too?"
