People Still Perplex Me Now & Then

To quote an infamous character:
"Demons I get. People are just crazy."
Yes, Dean Winchester. For nearly seven years I have agreed with you; People are just crazy. It is especially apparent when there is anything remotely to do with a woman's boobs.

Yes. I said boobs. Boobs, boobs, boobs, BOOBS. They aren't that scary people and it's not as if nearly ( Read more... )

I was expecting something a bit more racy from those pics. I mean, there's one where you can see (gasp!) half a boob and there's another where it kind of looks like she's orgasming, but, you know, in-context, she's pretty clearly screaming from, I don't know, pain or evil or something. For the most part I wouldn't even say it's sexy, just gender-swapped.

This is what perplexes me! I was expecting something racy, too! It's not like there is anything gratuitous and there is only a partial shot of one of her boobs. Yet, there were enough complaints that warranted someone on the Facebook staff to ban/take down the two photos the photographer posted.

People allow themselves to be offended by anything. It's utterly ridiculous. They are the most inoffensive pictures and anyway, it's only boobs *le gasp*

That's exactly my point; What is so offensive about these pictures, other than the fact you see half a boob? ONOES, IT'S A BOOB. Le End of World!!! D:

I want to laugh at the sheer idiocy of it. But I feel sorry for the photographer.

While I am by no means a professional artist, I feel for the photographer, too. You could almost say that Facebook censored his work for no good reason other than to placate immature adults that can't handle mature content.

I think this is one of the best LJ entries I have read in a while. I don't understand how people make such a big deal about boobs. All females have them, and like you say, most of us have been breastfed at one point.

Boobs is just a part of us, a part that is meant to feed our kids for a short amount of time. Then they just... hang there. lol.

So whenever people get their blood pressure up because they see a boob, I just laugh. It's so ridiculous... "Oh no it's a boob" *self slap in the head*

8D I'm glad you think so! ♥ One of the people I follow on Google+ had shared the link to the comic book article and it just got on my nerves because . . . I really don't see what the fuss is about. I don't know, perhaps having seen some SG sets, I've desensitized myself, but I really like to think I've matured. Then again, I'm adult, the model is an adult, the photographer is an adult, and to the point, the demographic/target audience for that photoshoot is aimed at adults. You'd think they'd act like, I don't know, adults!

Boobs is just a part of us, [...]
Exactly. They help nourish your children and then your boobs are just annoyingly there most of the time. I think if I came across this 10 years ago, I'd perhaps react differently, but I'm 30 years old and, like you, I just laughed and shook my head in perplexment. lol

There really is not reason for people to make a fuss about it. That photoshoot was a classy one. You didn't see a whole boob in any of the pictures. lol.

It does scare me how immature people really are. ^^
