No one needed to tell Amy that she needed to leave the Doctor alone. She was able to read his face and see the amount of pain that was within his eyes. There were a few times where she wanted to ask him what was wrong, but she didn't have it in her to talk with him. Amy knew what it was line to have an urge to be alone and she needed to respect that. She was sure the Doctor would give her that space when she needed it. The only hard part of the whole thing was that she was alone. Amy disliked being alone, her whole life was filled with it and she thought that would change when she started traveling around with the Doctor. For the most part it did change, but when there were moments like this, she was left alone to enjoy her own company
( ... )
The TARDIS had begun humming a soft comforting melody, trying to comfort her partner. The Doctor sensed it and was grateful for it. She had done it after Adric's death as well. She always did what she could for him, and he for her. Their relationship was unique in which it was a symbiotic one and at the same time like an old married couple.
He slowly looked up at Amy as she touched his arm. He didn't say anything, only watching her face. Hoping there was some sort of recollection of what should have happened in her life. Hoping that, her life hadn't been miserable and painful. And, most of all, he hoped that she hadn't been lonely. She had to remember Rory. He was so much of her center. Even more than the Doctor.
There was always that deep pain in Amy's eyes even when she was truly happy. She couldn't rid herself of that haunting sadness and it was amplified now that Rory was gone. That spark that she normally she had was gone and she looked as bad as the Doctor felt. She was mourning, but she had no idea what it was she was morning.
Giving her best attempt at a smile. Amy continued to stand there and look over the doctor's face. she wanted to say something but all words failed to come to her.
The Doctor let Amy sleep as long as she needed to. After everything that had happened, including the things she couldn't remember, he didn't have the hearts to disturb her rest like he normally would of. Instead he had gone back to the TARDIS and fished out a pair of fresh clothes for her when she had eventually let go of him. She was apparently a clingy sleeper.
He placed the clothes on the chair before walking over and opening the window. The town was alive with the morning market. He smiled and clapped his hands, rubbing them together, as he walked over to Amy.
The lullaby seemed to keep the nightmares away and Amy was able to have a restful sleep. Perhaps it was too restful since there were several grumbles that came from her and she buried her head against the pillow.
She knew he wouldn't leave her alone and she sat up eventually to look at him. "How do you run on no sleep?"
"It's a space thing. Sort of like space teeth, but a bit different. Mainly because a biology of a Time Lord is different. So!" He poked at her arm a few times before moving to the foot of the bed.
"Mornings on Viguna! Or do you want to hop in the TARDIS and go somewhere else?" He asked. Whatever had been bothering him the night before either was resolved or he was ignoring it. Most likely ignoring it, knowing the Doctor.
"Space teeth hurt," she muttered as she stretched and tried to get her body awake so she could get off the bed and moving around.
"Is there anything else amazing to see here?" She noticed the clothes sitting on a chair and that made her look at the Doctor. It was obviously he left and headed back to the TARDIS while she was sleeping, but she wasn't going to question him about it.
