I've been thinking about HIMYM, prompted by glassbomb's observation that loving this season puts you in a minority. I liked this season a lot and the only thing that really bugged me was something nobody could do anything about - the pregnancies. When I say bugged, I mean they were constantly taking me out of moments, not to mention messing with the show's ( Read more... )

One big yes about HIMYM.

The pregnancies bothered me as well, and the lack of Lily made the whole show seem bit off (and I was never a big Lily fan to begin with). I like that they tried to evolve Barney's character, but you know what's missing? The friendship aspect. Like you said, before it was all a big inside joke, that made the faithful viewers laugh, just like you would laugh at an inside joke with your closest friends. But now there's almost none of that.

Also they sort of need to hang out somewhere else and not just in the bar. Before the living arrangements made it more normal for all of them to be at the apartment which provided a second location(after the bar). But now, at least to me, it seems a bit weird that they keep dropping off at Ted's only to leave the moment their 2 minute conversation is over.

*nods* the dynamic has been a bit off ever since Lily and Marshall moved away. but I guess it makes sense they still drop by, they hang at the bar all the time and Ted's apartment is upstairs. the thing is, they're barely dropping in anymore.

and yeah, the lack of Lily was really noticeable. especially if you love her like I do.

"they're barely dropping in anymore."

This. It's rare and always just for a quick chat.

See I don't really love Lily that much, but I certainly noticed that her absence was making things weird. I like Marshal for example and he always plays off Lily (and vice versa off course).

Oh well, hopefully next season some of the dynamic will be back, and the stoylines... they'll probably continue resembling a standard sit com more and more.

Aw, now I wanna go rewatch that! &hearts
They are both so adorable and hot in that movie.

Word on HIMYM. I liked this season too.
Plus, every show has an off season now or then, at least HIMYM still didn't have any that sucked.
