What exactly is so disturbing about Running with Scissors? xD I can't tell if you're saying it's because it's so simple, so beautifully written, actually gruesome parts... etc.
Hmm... maybe I'll give On Beauty a try... not TOO appealing though and my brain is TOO fried to analyze that poem.
It became a bit too much for me. Too descriptive - like all senses were used to describe one scene. Yes! Taste as well! Made me sick because it was kinda relevant to what I ate for lunch. >_>;
