Forty years. And yes, I do have some familiarity with that certain case - it was my student's first major case. He performed commendably.

I was a witness as well in that case, along with my sister. The first prosecutor of Darke's case was murdered as well during that--Neil Marshal. Do you happen to know by whom he was murdered? And a hint: it wasn't Joe Darke.

Don't be ridiculous, Chief Prosecutor, you know as well as I do that Joe Darke was convicted in that case.

He may have been convicted, but in a trial later than your memory serves, it was discovered that the true killer was Damon Gant.

Surely such a failure reflects badly on the abilities of the police department?

It would, and it's already exposed. The department was a mess to being, too, as a murder happened prior, too... also caused by Damon.

I didn't think he was that type of man...but I suppose he is only human, and does inclined to foolishness.
