Two fandomish comments and one depressing observation.

1) Breaking Dawn was made of so much fail that I am actually taking days to write a post about it (and Twilight) in general. That'll be here probably tomorrow or the day after.

2) I'm about to download the first episode of Dr. Who--the new version, I guess. I am so confused about this show, lol. I've been wanting to watch it for a long time, but I'

You'll be fine with Who; I had never watched the original series but I found no problems. There were occasional things I was out of the loop on but quickly was educated on, like some small references to the original series, some recurring Bad Guys...

But you are pretty much brought up to date within the first episode or two.

Breaking Dawn was so bad I couldn't finish it. I got halfway through Jacobs POV and I just couldn't read anymore. It was that bad.
You'll be just fine with Doctor Who, they explain things really well. I don't blame you for not wanting to watch all 30 seasons just yet - That's quite a bit, haha. It's easy to catch on and everything is very well explained, seeing as Rose is just as new to Doctor Who as you are :p

*shudder* I almost stopped, too, but it was kind of like a really bad car wreck--hard to look away. I had to find out just how far SMeyer was going to take the fail. I'll admit, I skimmed. Just be glad you missed the crazy death baby and her creepy growth spurts. *shudders some more*

And as for Dr. Who, that's great. Now I'm even more excited about watching it than I was before! :D

Also I never watched Doctor Who until a few months ago as it started popping up everywhere on my f-list. It took me a couple of episodes to really get into it, but now I love it. It really is as good as everyone says, though I have only watched this newest series and none of the old ones. I just finished watching the last episode of series three, which made me love Ten, even if Nine will always be MY doctor.

Hahaha, I'm actually having a little trouble finishing the post I started because every time I do I get pissed off. xD But alas, I WILL finish it! I'll grit my teeth or something.

As for Doctor Who, oh, it's so good. I'm about to start the third episode, so I'm not very far, but I think I love it already. ♥

2. Oh, you're beating me to it! I've also been meaning to watch it forever, and as soon as I catch up with Battlestar Galactica, I'm starting it. I'm super excited, and now you'll have just experienced it, too. I really wouldn't worry about the whole it being revived thing. Yes, the hardcore DW fans will say that you should watch it all, but most people I know just watch the revived version and have absolutely no problems with understanding. So I think you'll be okay. Have fun with it!
