Troy doesn’t really know why, but he pulls Ryan aside after rehearsal and blurts, “Are you gay?”
The boy regards him impassively.
“You’re just... you’re kinda flaming.”
Ryan quirks an eyebrow.
“No offense, but people who aren’t usually don’t, um, act like you.”
A smile briefly flickers across Ryan’s lips. “I’ve never been with a guy,” he responds, looking Troy up and down, “but I wouldn’t say no, if the right one came along.”
He winks and spins on his heels, exiting the auditorium before Troy can question this. A few moments pass before Troy thinks to close his mouth.
