Star Trek - My impressions after watching the movie

So I've finally seen the new Star Trek movie and enjoyed it tremendously. I've read the novelisation and read many reaction posts before watching the movie, so I was thoroughly spoiled, but I didn't mind one bit. On the contrary. I like being spoiled, because then I can focus on the details

I honestly think some of the Uhura-dissing I've seen on the internet is what pushed me from thinking the pairing was great and being happy with it in the movie while watching slash to ardently wanting to actually write it.

So in addition to the canon Spock/Uhura pairing (looking e.g. forward to stories how they got together), I'll also happily read Kirk/Spock, Kirk/McCoy, Spock/McCoy, ...

black_regalia and I are working on the outline for a fic with tons of conflicting tensions. XD Although, I think my favorite off-mainstream pairing is Sulu/Kirk, their Man Bond from plummeting to the planet together is awesome. Sulu readily speaks up for him as the new captain and Kirk readily trusts Sulu to decide if he lives or dies. Grunt. Man Bond!
