First of all, otanjoubi omedetou Yama-chan!! Hope your 15th birthday was a wonderful one and that the year ahead is even better than the last ^-^ I hope my letter reaches you, and that I didn't make too many mistakes with my iffy Japanese >~<
The first time I saw you, Yama-dear, was in the October issue of Wink Up, which I bought while I was in Japan. Well...I may have seen you before that, but those times don't count x) I distinctly remember sitting on the hotel bed at night in Kyoto, flicking through my very first idol magazine (and certainly not my last xDD). At the time I had a big crush on Ikuta Toma, so I spent alot of time looking at his pictures, as well as the other Hana Kimi pages. I hardly noticed anything else! But, while I was fangirling over my poster of Toma I chanced to look on the other side. I was met with this~
My reaction? .......I would like to say instant love, but that would be a lie XD *thunk*
When I saw it, I went "oh" and turned back to Toma +_+ I thought you were just another junior, and to me back then all juniors were weird and scary! ok so maybe sometimes I still think that XD u_u GOMENASAI! >///<
The next week, when I was staying with my host family, we were having a barbeque the same night that you debuted on HEYHEYHEY. I was watching it!! At the time (I'm getting ready to headdesk again =3) I was more interested in watching V6 perform, and wondering why there was only five of them (OMG where's Ken?!?! *headdesk*facepalm*headdesk*. But I'm pretty sure I saw you debuting, and the name of your band rang a bell with me. Sadly, I returned to Australia just before the Hey Say JUMP hype began, but I feel so lucky for being in Japan at such an important time for you ^_^
My nee-chan LOVED the Wink Up I bought in Japan, the last Wink Up of you as a junior. I mean REALLY loved it; she took it wherever she went and must have spent hours looking at it. Pretty good for someone who didn't even like Kattun or News at the time! Anyway, she was the first to notice your adorableness- at every picture she'd go "aww he is sooo cuuute," and I'd go "ech no way~ he's tiny" D8 GOD! But since you were featured alot in that magazine, and since you WERE completely adorable (I couldn't deny it, even then), we nicknamed you Baby Boo. Yes. Baby Boo. Now be quiet! XDDD
After finding Kanga Kanga, our Jmag heaven, we realised in a Popolo magazine that Hey Say JUMP was a new Johnny's band that had debuted recently...and that...is that Baby Boo...? OMG it is!! ^0^ Since we already knew you, suddenly you became the normal one amongst all those new faces. We were daunted at first with 10 members, and so rather than learning all your names we gave nicknames to certain members. Inoo became the good-looking one, Yabu became the old one, Morimochan became the absurdly young one, Daiki became the weird one (Gomen Daiki!! You're awesome!! =0) and Chinen...became Little Toma 0___0 SERIOUSLY WTF WAS WRONG WITH ME THEN. OMG. XDD
Soon after, I youtubed Hey Say JUMP and found the HEYHEYHEY performance (it looked strangely familiar o.o). The internet was slow, so I waited for it to load in excited anticipation. When it played, I was already fangirling! (sticks *instant hsj fangirl* sticker on her forehead). I tried to look out for my favourites, aka Baby Boo and Little Toma @_@ When your solo part in the chorus came up I was BOWLED OVER. Your voice was much much deeper than I expected it to be! I mean heck, what kind of Baby Boo has a voice like that! *_* Little Toma...probably exceeded expectations. We didn't realise just how short and high-pitched he was 0.0 Anyway, I downloaded the song and kept it on repeat for a whole day ^__^
It didn't take me long then to start looking up you Hey Say JUMP, and learning what you were all about. I found out that you had starred in a drama! Just to see what it was like, I told myself, I crunchyrolled "Tantei Gakuen Q" and started watching. The first time you appeared as the awesome Amakusa Ryuu I smiled, and I was hooked after that x) It's one of my favourites, if not my absolute favourite drama today ^^ Ryuu being such a brilliant and loveable character, Toma slowly started to lose his grip on my heart, and soon enough I found myself one day turning the Toma poster on my door around to reveal the first picture I ever saw of you. That picture now sits on the wall right next to my bed, and it's the last thing I see before I turn out the lights every night ^-^
With the Yama-chan fan within me growing, I looked up Hey Say JUMP interviews and such, to see what you were really like. Expecting a serious, sophisticated and cool Ryuu, I was pleasantly surprised to find an ever-smiling, warm and funny Ryosuke instead. This clinched it for me! I love Ryuu, but it's the genki guys I always fall for in the end, and compared to what I thought you were before, you've always seemed so human to me too ne.
And now I'm here, writing my longest blog yet on how I got to be a fan of yours and how wonderful you are C: Though I often feel uncomfortable for liking you (basically everyone around me thinks I'm weird for liking someone younger), being your fan is so rewarding! You're really popular now, ne? I've been able to see you in two other dramas (with a new one on the way), I saw your first ever solo song on my birthday (I cried XD), and I've generally just been able to see alot of you (to the point of absurdity! ^0^)
You've given me so many happy moments there are too many to list. All I can say to you now is ganbatte, take care, don't let life get too hectic, have fun and keep being your charming, wonderful self.
