Zanza, my gray cat nicknamed Little Satan, just stalked a wild turkey! I looked out my front window and saw him crouched in the shallow drainage ditch in our front lawn, tail lashing. In the road, not far away, was a wild turkey. Not the plump, Butterball variety. As I watched, Zanza finally charged it, and it flew away, sort of, down the road. ( Read more... )

we have wild turkeys that wander through our backyard every now and then
though i haven't seen them in a couple months

I haven't seen one in a long time either. Just after we moved in, three or four big females with their young came through our yard, Haven't seen more than a couple wandering about since then.

I had no idea that there were actual wild turkeys still. I thought it was just a drink. Maybe the turkey was drunk?

Well, it might have been. But yes, we have actual wild turkeys. :P

You and me both! Crazy, crazy cat. It was such a TALL bird! I'd forgotten, because much of the time they're bent over eating off the ground.

I think it was a girl bird. And it was gray toned, not brown or red.
