I love this - it's totally worth the wait!

I'm really interested in the plot and you've got a great sense of pacing, taking time to tell the story but keeping it really fresh and tense.

I'm terrified about what's happening in the Hub and in love with your Owen, he's very abrasively in character and interacts brilliantly with Tosh and Jack.

Really good stuff!

Thank you! Phew! Glad you stuck with me.

I'm glad to hear that the story reads well and that I managed to keep Owen sounding like Owen. Truth - at first I had him capitulating to Tosh way too soon. When I read it over, I went, "Nah. That just isn't what Owen would do." Owen does angry and annoying well, doesn't he?

I have a real soft spot for Owen - I mean, I'm a Jack-girl at heart, but Owen just makes me laugh and shake my head at the same time. And you really do have him down well, the way he gruffly asks if everyone is okay but complains and bitches the rest of the time - and you give valid explanations for his behavious! Really, I could yammer on all night about TW and how many lines I love in your fic (because it is really, really good, very layered and excellent to re-read, which is fun to do while waiting ;-) - no pressure) but mostly just to echo what's said below: reads like an episode!

Jack's been complaining to me that Owen is getting all the best lines. Since he's my favorite, he's been a little upset. I told him not to worry. He gets to be tremendously heroic and clever in chapter 9.

I love this fic- it reads like an episode. Everything seems dark, I have this urge to jump in my chair (or bed, or wherever I'm reading) and squeal. Great job, thanks for posting!

I hope RL allows you to update soon ;)

Thanks! I do think of it like an episode, kind of get scenes running through me head while I'm writing.

And, oh, wow. When I'm reading a scary story, I pull my feet up off the floor and - if I'm in bed - nothing can be hanging off the edge. o_O

I don't anticipate a delay. I'm aiming for next Saturday, tops. ::keeps fingers crossed and eyes RL suspiciously::

This was the one series I was anxious to read the whole time I was on vacation. YAY! Glad there's more.

Thank You! Are you still on vacation? Did you go anywhere fun? I love vacation, but considering inflation, I think me and the hubby are going to get to go to Dragon*Con in Atlanta this year and that's it. ::sigh::

Got back last week but I still haven't unpacked. My mother came into a large settlement with the VA after my father died so she sprang for my sister, myself, and her to go on a cruise up to Alaska. It was magnificent. But I'm glad to be home. I wish I could go to Dragon*Con, not only because of the Torchwood element but because I've heard such amazing things about it. But sadly I'm too far away and the way flights are priced these days, it's not possible. I might make it to ComicCon in San Diego but am not holding my breath for that, either. If you do go to Dragon*Con and have the opportunity to meet any of the Torchwood folks, please pass along my hugs and admiration.

Oh, Alaska. That sounds wonderful. I always said if we won the lottery, the hubby and I would be off on a cruise to see the fjords. (After Hitchhiker's Guide and Slartibartfast, how could we not?) Alaska would come soon after. I'm just not much interested in a cruise to islands and beaches.

Dragon*Con is amazing, but it's turning into a large con. This means that we get some impressive guests, but the lines to see them are, at times, insurmountable. We've been going for almost twenty years now, and in the beginning, the crowds were less. It's a give and take situation. Still, last year I got to see Michael Shanks on a panel and was so, so happy.

Comic con must have an incredible venue in order to be able to host over 100 thousand people. Dragon*con hit around thirty thousand last year and it was busting out the seams.

Yay!

I really love this story ... rather than being 'ship-centric, you've really made an excellent, Torchwood gen fic that gives all the primary cast a healthy amount of 'screen time.'

Although I wonder, when do we get to see some Rhys? :D

I'm glad you're enjoying my fic. I really love an action/adventure story with just enough loving to let you know there's a relationship. I know there are a few stories like this out there, but the 'ship-centric stories kind of rule the roost. (Which is fine, because I love to read a good Jack/Ianto myself.)

OMG! You know, I forgot about Rhys. Gwen called him and told him to stay put. Hmm. You know, when he heard 'zombies' he really is the type to grab a cricket bat and look for a pub. He'll take his friend Banana Boat and make like 'Shaun of the Dead'. :P

You've inspired me. I think I'll write a short story of Rhys' adventures during this crisis. I'd been contemplating something like it involving one zombie's quest for justice.

I haven't really found many that weren't, ultimately, a 'ship fic at heart.

I'm a shameless Rhys fangirl and a shameless Simon Pegg-Nick Frost fangirl, so I would absolutely die (in the best of ways) if you wrote that. Pls pls pls. *offers cake*

There is a decent chance I'll write Rhys his own little story. I haven't decided yet if it will actually be his POV, or the POV of the zombie who's seeking justice. I'm really glad you mentioned Rhys. He just didn't have a place in this story, but he'll fit really well in this other one. Now, all I have to do is finish up the Baron and figure out a plot for the side story. Yup. No problem. ::keeps fingers crossed::
