We're going to be adopting a new shelter dog soon; my aunt found a real cutie on Petfinder, and we're planning to go meet him at some point in the near future! All our dogs and cats have been from shelters, so. That's such a sweet wish on your list, awww. <3

And I'll be sending you a card, of course. With a drabble in! :O

That is exactly what I love to hear. Adopting a pet is always so much more rewarding than breeding or buying one from a pet store. I know that dogs at a shelter are conceived as'bad tempered' but they can be trained with patience and love. People just need to understand that these animals are hurting and need to be given the time to adjust. <3 I hope you post photos of your new puppy! I'd love to see him. I bet he's a heartbreaker.

I was so surprised the first time a friend of mine claimed that shelter dogs were somehow bad tempered and unpredictable! Ours have needed a bit of training (sit, stay, heel, that kind of thing), but they've been amazingly sweet and already housebroken. This is the kiddo we're looking at, by the way: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17178668 And oh, there will definitely be a multitude of new photos forthcoming when and if we do get him. ^_~
