NEW RULES - READ THIS!!!!
After some open discussions and a couple of polls, these are the new rules. I did the best I could to make as many people as happy as possible while still remaining as fair as possible. If you don't like these rules, I am very sorry. Deal with it.
FULL RULES FOR PARTICIPATING IN THIS COMMUNITY:
1: Your secret must be a secret. Duh. This does not include any of the following: macros, captions, song lyrics, comic strips, or whatever other clever category of "picture + text" you can think of. Due to its subjectivity, this is the loosest rule of the community, and may occasionally be bent, depending on how the macro/song lyric/whatever is utilized. As a general rule, if your secret makes a relevant statement of some kind, it will probably be posted. If it doesn't, it won't.
2: All secrets must directly tie back to the band, the fandom, fan jokes, current related events, etc. If the mod team cannot decipher the connection, they will assume it's unrelated and vote against posting it. Simply including a key word or pictures does not a connection make.
3: No personal pictures may be used. Ever. It doesn't matter if the fan is standing next to Bill himself - if the secret is about a fan, you may not use that fan's picture in your secret. The only exception to this is for "famous" fans, who brought it upon themselves by putting themselves in the spotlight. If you don't know what makes a "famous" fan, ask yourself this - does the person's notoriety extend beyond the realm of the internet? No? Then they're not a famous fan.
4: You may include mentions of individual "regular" fans in your secret, but the secret must still comply with rule #2. Screencaps of comments/usernames/icons are acceptable only if the secret deals with the contents of the comment rather than with the commenter themselves. This means that any secret about the person's - age, looks, weight, location, personal life, etc., etc. - will not be allowed.
5: If you have personal beef with somebody, grow a pair and deal with it yourself - do not use secrets to air out your dirty laundry, and do not use anon as a method of dealing with your problems. In fact, just take your personal beef to a damn private message. This is a secrets community, not a daycare or a counseling center.
6: The mod team was created for a reason - to more fairly judge what is and is not acceptable to post. If your secret wasn't posted, suck it up and don't bitch about it. Additionally, don't go posting your secret all over the comments anyway. The secret wasn't posted for a reason, and you're not clever for thinking "post it in the comments instead!" is some kind of loophole. Comments containing rejected secrets will be deleted.
7: This is a snark community, and sometimes things get a little mean. By participating in this community, you acknowledge this. The moderator is not here to hold your hand if somebody calls you a cunt. However - severe flaming, malicious threats, personal attacks, and blatant trolling are absolutely not acceptable within the community's contents. The moderator reserves the right to freeze and/or delete comments as she feels necessary. If your comment gets deleted, don't bitch about it. Try being nicer next time and your shit won't get deleted.
