The riots have already happened, though I'm not sure if they'll continue. Hundreds of cars burnt, a school torches, and a man thrown into the Rhone.
That said, 53% of the French have said they support longer hours, so perhaps it will go through. The unions have threatened to strike though.
I read some stuff in the Guardian about how he's not exactly like Thatcher. He believes in State intervention and protecting state-owned business, so he's a bit of an odd mix.
