That was great - really explained it all well! The whole French system can be very confusing to someone mired in the first-past-the-post system! :)

Le Pen is a right pig - I sincerely hope he gets nowhere, I really do. Is Sarkozy as dodgy as Chirac?

Hmm, a Socialist and a woman - she would get my vote. Its usually a good combo - look at people like Barbara Castle and M Mowlam.

As dodgy as Chirac... Well, not quite. He hasn't yet been accused of corruption. However, I find him much more hateable.

He has been pandering to the extreme-right. For example, he's been talking about introducing an element of proportional representation, which would hugely strengthen Le Pen's position.

He's also racist and classist, referring to the poor second-generation Arabians in France's ghettoes as scum.

I agree with Annie's comment. I too saw the logo as the Rose from Beauty and the Beast. :]
