Mar 16, 2006 23:08

Today I received a letter from the Claybrook Centre saying that they have received my NHS referral. Also, they sent me a form to fill out and send back to them, to confirm that I really do want a GIC appointment ( Read more... )

That's standard for them, yes. They believe in giving people the opportunity to change their mind at any stage.

I don't quite remember, but I think I was offered a first appointment a couple of months later, although it was a short notice one which I couldn't make, and I actually saw them another month or so after that.

Yes, I had to do that. I got that letter early december, I have an LJ entry dated the 9th of december mentioning it, and my appointment was on the 30th of January. It's to stop people saying they want to go and not turning up, wasting an appointment slot that could have been given to someone who did want to go.

I didn't need the checklist thing, but I took all paper work with me just in case. Oh, and if there's still time get an HC2 if you haven't got one, you might be able to claim back travel costs (paid in full, cash in hand).

Oh, and good luck. I know a lot of people think it's a bad place, but I thought it was quite nice there, it wouldn't surprise me if the people saying it's bad have either never been there or were being deliberately difficult.

Yeh I got a letter when they got my NHS referral with a reply slip in November, then another letter in January with an actual appt date (in March) with a reply slip. I had the (first) appt yesterday, was ok. Green has a toupee that looks like a dead rat *cracks up laughing*
