Question for those legally/politically minded..

A tg friend was recently made so uncomfortable in the house she was sharing with friends that she felt she had to leave. Said 'friends' were unwilling to deal with her tg issues and threatened to out her to her parents.
Is there any legal precident for her to get some compensation or anything from this?

I'm not sure about compensation but if she calls the local police and asks to speak to their LGBT officer (they should have one or someone who deals with LGBT hate crime even if they have another name). What these 'friends' have done classes as a hate crime and the police will take it seriously if it is reported.
