It's been about ten years since I first looked and thought, "We could see actual peace in Northern Ireland in my lifetime..." Every small step along the way for the last decade has gladdened my heart, and today when I saw this story I couldn't stop smiling. Yes, they're leaving a peacetime garrison there, but the symbolic moment of "The British soldiers are standing down and leaving," just about made me cry for joy.
