Sick and Tired of Youngling Bumblebee

Yep you read the title right I'm sick and tired of Youngling Bumblebee fics especially the ones where he's the absolute last youngling and the youngest in the movieverse. It even gets annoying in G1 and it can turn me off on a fic really fast. Heck I don't even like the first ones that popped up and normally I love fics with younglings and ( Read more... )

Don't mind me, I'm just playing Devil's advocate here, but this is from the community profile: People can also post Do Not Wants -- things people are tired of seeing or that they'd like to see presented with a different spin.

did you read The Cure? It's still WiP but it has a very non standard aproach to g1 Bumblebee.

Word. I totally agree with you. I hate the trend, and I don't even know where it came from, except that I tend to see it more in Bayverse than G1. Which I really don't get, because in Bayverse, from the comics, Bumblebee was at least old enough to stand guard and be in the military (or something like that) when Megatron rose, along with Cliffjumper. *shrugs* Anyways, yeah, probably an unpopular opinion, but you're not alone.

I agree with Seiberwing. This post kind of seems a bit out of place. There are comms specifically for ranting about what you don't like about the fandom and like, I specifically haven't joined any of those 'cause I get upset easily. ^^;; And there is nothing wrong with posting your "Do Not Wants", like genre_savvy said, but I kind of always assumed that was in the context of laying out what what type of story you did want to see, not just ranting ('cause like, this is "Transformers Fanfiction I Want to See", you know ^^) You kind of mentioned there that you think Jazz is the youngest, maybe that's something you might want to see? That actually sounds kind of interesting. There aren't very many stories like that, though I think I remember seeing one once upon a time.

Am I the only one who read the implied "Help me find fics that are not THIS" into this post? Because it seemed pretty obvious to me?

Lol! No, we all got that 'cause, like you say, that was very obvious and this is a comm to help people find stories. However "Fics not THIS" spans a huuuuuge amount of possible stories. We were all throwing things out there because we had no idea what type of thing she wanted, 'cause "Fics not THIS" could be anything from the Autobots as kitten to a SG fic where Bumblebee was crazy and torturing people. I suggested Jazz as a sparkling because she mentioned something sorta along those lines. Its hard to help people find stories when we don't really know what sort of thing they are looking for or what they really would like to see.

*thumbs up* I agree with you on G1 Bee being a kid - I mean he was chosen to crew the Ark and all.

And I think there was a fic somewhere portraying Bumblebee as an assassin (being all cutesy is a front) and I'll try and find it for you, assuming that my interpretation of your rant as "gimme grownup!Bee fic" is valid.
