Looking for a lost story! Post movie the autobots bring in a wounded Barricade, but find out he's actually a brainwashed/reprogrammed Prowl. Similar theory, but the story I'm looking for has Prowl remembering being Prowl fully. In this one he becomes Ranger instead. It does look interesting though! I'll have to read it.

I am pretty sure you are looking for On The Freedom Of Existence by LittleMewLugia. If it is not it, I'd like too see that story too.

I read through Milhent's suggestion, and I agree that it's probably what you're looking for.

As for similar stories... honestly, I'm a tad annoyed with myself. I know that there are several out there since it was a very popular trope on FFNet, but of the two that I can think of, one doesn't involve Barricade, and the other doesn't involve Prowl. They're still very good stories though: "Barricaded" by Exactlywhat and "Hunter Green" by Ante_Luche.
