And I love how you don't go romantic--you keep things largely a matter of convenience and similarity and just getting away from the war. It works for these two--fantastic! And I love how you keep them both not-really-an-Autobot/a-Decepticon, but still definitely not the other. It works for them so well!
Very nice. Both Thundercracker and Mirage are often neglected characters, and it is nice to see them in the spotlight. I like the flow and how the pairing is more one of convenience. It leaves it open enough for their liaison to finally end or to become something deeper. The last paragraph is especially poignant.
