Fireflies
Character/s: Wreck-Gar, the protagonist (Nicholas/Nightbeat)
Universe: Some weird cross between Persona 3, IDW and TFA. (Mostly TFA/Persona 3 with other characters tossed in.)
Prompt: Task - Choose a character and an animal (any non-sentient organic being), and write an interaction between the two.
Notes: ...idk slight cavities?
Disclaimer: Persona series belongs to Atlus, TFA belongs to Hasbro, etc etc etc. Do not own anybody.

I really hate not being able to talk.
The most he could really do was run after him, as he couldn't shout ( in fact, whenever he tried talking, he got nothing but constant silence. Nobody could work out what was wrong, and he didn't want Percival to take a look - he had vehemently protested when the scientist had suggested it by means of writing NO repeatedly on a board and sticking it in the Persona user's face) and it was really a good thing that he could run very fast and that the person he was running after was easy to spot.
Luckily, Wreck-Gar stopped after a few moments (he had the attention span of a flea sometimes) and when Nicholas finally caught up, the younger man was standing absolutely still, with an expression of awe on his uplifted face.
((What is he looking at?))
The older man followed his gaze and noticed the hundreds of tiny lights in the air and on the trees, presumably what had captured Wreck-Gar's attention so successfully.
It's summer. There are fireflies everywhere right now.
"They're so pretty! What do you think?"
((You could almost forgive him for forgetting that you can't talk.))
"..."
They stood there for a while, sharing silence (one because he had to, the other because he wanted to) and watching the tiny lights flicker in the descending darkness.
Eventually, Nicholas put an arm around Wreck-Gar's shoulders.
Time to go.
"Can we come and see them again?"
His puppy-eyed look is almost endearing (but Nicholas is a little more resistant to that), and eventually he just nods.
Okay. Maybe some other time.
