Nice! Interesting setup and well-written. Sorry, Red, but Megatron's got some damn good points. Very creative use of the prompt.

He does, doesn't he? I've always thought that freedom-fighter!Megatron would probably have some pointed things to say about mechs who are obviously CODED for their functions in a way that is not particularly good for their mental health...and which likely they did not have much choice about.

That's something I like writing about in my AUs: about how Megatron actually was RIGHT a lot of the time...up until he wasn't anymore.

Wow, this is scary good! Quite the silver tongue on that Megatron to be sure, and the 'logic' holds together enough to trap poor Red!! I'm hoping he finds a way out!!!

Thank you! IDW and Prime Megatrons just totally cemented my view of him as a very thinky, charismatic leader. He's smart, and furthermore, at the beginning of the war, he was RIGHT. Maybe this little AU is what would have happened if he had treid to recruit those, like Red (or, perhaps, like the cityformers?) who had been coded from birth to be their functions, with very little free will.

My Megatron is liking this idea. He's wondering if perhaps he could nab a Prowl while he's on a roll. :P

I always did think that Red Alert could be a very good Decepticon.

I adored Megatron in this. he was so smart and so eloquent, and so very right.

I agree! So many of the Autobots could be good Decepticons, given the right push and recruitment speech. Maybe this AU is one where Megatron found those right words in a few different places. :D

Ooooh interesting. Megatron has some good points. Like seeing Red Alert's processor functions, too.

He does have some good points, doesn't he? I might be a big fan of freedom!fighter!Megatron who hasn't quite gone completely around the bend. Who knows...maybe Red Alert's recruitment will change a lot of things..... ;P
