8D Geek humor FTW! I'm not a geology major so I didn't exactly understand some of those jokes, but the ones I did were so godawful that I couldn't stop laughing. And somehow you made the descriptions of the geological features of the landscape really interesting. *shakes fist* Damn you for making geology fascinating!

And now I have to go search the internet for Photo major jokes, cause I'm dying to see if they're just as corny...

Geology is fascinating! I had to force myself to stop researching and actually write the story - I was off on a tangent geo-geeking out with the hubby about this stuff.

Geek humor is the best type! I'm glad you could understand enough to laugh at some of them.

And were the photo major jokes any good?

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the jokes - it was a blast digging them out! Jay and I were LOLing as I was finding them - he was a huge help in figuring out which ones I could actually use.

This was your prompt? I want more prompts from you - I had so much fun writing this! When I got the assignment, I immediately wrote 'obviously, they're doing a geologic/energy survey of Africa'.

Then I pulled in my hubby, who also has a geology degree, and we talked and talked about the Rift system and how it can be used to create HUGE amounts of energy, and one of the times we're talking he gives me a very bad geology joke, and I was off and running! It was such a lightbulb moment - use comedy as a means of putting these two together!

I'm glad it made you laugh, and I'm glad I fulfilled the prompt at least with the rhino, and I'm happy you could laugh at the terrible jokes.

Yep! :DDD Hahahahahaha! Well, you just need to write more Beachcomber fics anyway. ;D

I love all their little mishaps with sand and ants and frisky elephants, and of course the rhino. XDDDDD
