Chromia was ambling up to the shooting range, processor, thankfully, no longer plagued by any kind of irksome fear. Whatever the slag had gotten into her processor before, had now well and truly departed. Her optics remain glued to a data-pad as she approaches the range, running over the progress she'd made thus far on her water-pump...

Then a sound causes her to pause and look up. The range was just a little ways away, but close enough for her to make out... Both her optics flicker and widen slightly. ...Are you fraggin' kiddin' me? Ok. Well, it sure didn't seem the femme (whom she just recognised as her counterpart) had things under control. If the runnin' and bein' chased by missiles is anythin' to go by, that is.With a resigned sigh, Chromia deposits the data pad into her subspace and extracts her grenade launcher. She sets the heavy weapon atop her shoulder and takes aim at a nearby tree. Then fires. A single rounded grenade erupts from the barrel and attaches itself to the tree's bark, its light flickering into life. A few ( ... )

Chromia, both startled and relieved to hear the voice of her counterpart, had noticed the tree's flaring. "Thank Primus!" she thought to herself, running towards the tree. She hit the ground, the wind from the missiles as they flew over her head just barely missing her chassis as all four of them hurled towards the flaring tree.

Well, if there was one good thing about wasting four missiles and nearly getting slagged by them, it was that she always did enjoy a nice explosion. <3

Looking up, she scanned the area for her counterpart, but the air was still clearing, rendering her optic scanners all but useless.

"Chrooooomiaaaaaa?" She called, almost playfully. "Oh, Chrooooooomiaaaaa?" Still no answer. This gave her a little more time to think...what excuses could she make? One thing was for certain: her counterpart was a crack shot! What would she do if her horrible aim was revealed? [twitch]

She had to think of something, and fast, while searching through the area for her fellow femme.

Chromia carefully steps back around the boulder she'd taken up shelter behind, grimacing at the site of destruction the missiles had wrought on the trees.

Slag. Hope there ain't any of those tree-huggin' bots nearby...

Her audios then perk up at the sound of her counterpart calling out to her. She moves back out into the open and spots the femme through the smoky haze spread from the explosion. Chromia vents a sigh and idly leans back against the boulder.

"Right here", she flops a one-handed wave in the fembots direction, cocking an optic ridge at her in slight query. She had just been tailed by four missiles after all, "You alight genius?"

At first, the voice of her fellow femmebot didn't register, as excuses and cover-ups ran rampant through her processor. Nope...nothing sounded convincing. Being chased by four of her own missiles? Nothing was going to be able to cover that up! Unless...

"Ooooh, there you are! I was just practicing my agility!"Completely...unbelievable, even to herself. A long, high pitched laugh escaped her vocal processor as she tried to hide the look of blatant worry from her face plating. Without missing a beat, her arms and head fell,"Or that's what I'd like to think at least. Promise not to tell anyone about..." Her optics passed over the burnt trees and smoke for a brief moment,"...this? You aren't hurt, are you?"

It wasn't that she was concerned for her part in destroying trees as much as it was the risk of her pride being destroyed. That was her main mark as a Decepticon: her pride! If word got back to her verse that she couldn't shoot a shooting range target with four missiles, each being many times bigger than the targets themselves, her ( ... )

Chromia merely grunts a non-committal noise in response, lifting her shotgun and turning her attention back to the line of targets set out in front of her. She really needs a distraction from the less than enrapturing conversation topics they've covered.

She shoots down four from the line before pausing to reload - it's then that Chromia-chan's question catches her notice. She's slightly struck by the open curiosity from her counterpart. Particularly that it's about a topic that isn't mech-centred. Chromia tilts her helm in her direction and lifts an optic ridge, absently clipping the fresh ammunition into place in the gun.

"My 'verse?" she echoes dubiously before shrugging, "Same basic premise as the others I guess. Civil war. Bots versus Cons. Red against Purple. Back home, our main reason for fighting centred around an energy-crises, though I know that tends to vary from 'verse to 'verse."

She shrugs again, turning her helm back to the target line and snapping the shotgun barrel closed.

"And as for the reason we're so ( ... )

Simply amazing. Chromia's positions back in her verse were completely different. "Am I just spoiled?" The thought had crossed her mind, but not since she had moved to the Nexus.

She stood up, turning her body at an angle to face her friend, a smirk easing its way across her face plating as she took in her counterpart's humor. At least they had something in common.

"I hardly think I was dropped on my head as a sparking, but Primus knows most of my colleagues probably had been!" She shot a return smile at Chromia, showing her playfulness in rolling punches, "You sound like you have a pretty interesting 'verse, sister. Did you at least get to fight on Cybertron? Home turf can really give the advantage."

Watching her friend shoot gave C-chan inspiration. Perhaps it was just her processor playing tricks on her, but for a moment, she could see the warrior she'd always aspired to be in Chromia: persistent, agile, and deadly.

[With a hint of sighing] "I'm not sure which one is more petty. A civil war over an energy crisis or a galactic ( ... )

She can't help the snort that leaves her at Chromia-chan's question.

"Frag, all our fightin' was done on Cybertron gal. Though forget about us havin' a "home advantage". 'Cons back there were just as familiar with the turf as we were." Though personally, she doubted Shockwave ever left his cushy little fort back home. She knew she'd never seen him too far out from it anyway. And never without his little legion of Sentinel drones.

Chromia then cocks an optic ridge in intrigue at the other femme's description of her own 'verse.

"Right. Well your 'verse sounds pretty... different to ours anyways" she lifts her gun to hit another two targets, "So... you were the only femme back there? Weird. I mean, femmes ain't exactly common in my 'verse, but they ain't unheard of either ( ... )

"All of your fighting was on Cybertron? How unattractive!" C-chan yelled back to her counterpart, counting the many snowballs she had managed to make in such short time. [mumbling to herself] "And now, my fortress is finished! Time for some~EH!?"

A noise could be heard above her head. No matter. A patch of snow catches her helm on its way to the ground. Alright, that deserves a look. She looks up...plop! All the snow from the first few branches came falling onto her - enough to cover her from head to toe where she crouched! Coooooold~!

Her head shot out from the top of the pile, shaking to get the snow off.

"Oh, good one, sister! But now it's my...My snowbaaaaaalls! Noooooo!" Looking down, she noticed that her stash of ammunition had been completely consumed by the minor avalanche. Oh, two could play at this game! Climbing out of the pile of snow she'd been consumed by, C-chan's processor finally registered the last words her friend had spoke."Hmph! Well, maybe you're right! But a femme like me can't take a bot seriously who doesn' ( ... )

Chromia briefly levels a slightly confused look at Swindle. Okay... Clearly, she needed to work on her scowls. The precise message of "you have no idea how hard I'm fighting the urge to blast a hole through both your helms" appeared to be getting lost in translation.

Then again, that could just be put down to both their own dumb-as-frag processors.

When Chromia-chan grabs her hand, it takes every ounce of Chromia's willpower not to snap it. She glowers and roughly pulls her own free, though does begrudgingly follow the other towards the shooting points.

Chromia's expression then turns to a deadpan frown at her counterpart's announcement. Her optic ridge twitches, palm making solid contact with her forehead. Oh good. Just when she thought this whole situation just couldn't possibly get any more irritating...

"Yeaaah..." she gets out, words slightly muffed as she drags the hand down her faceplates to stop and rub at her neck-cables irritably, "As... temptin' as that is... Hows about we do this without the distraction of prizes eh ( ... )

Swindle looks on with a delighted indulgence as C-chan capers around Chromia, the latter's less than enthusiastic behaviour failing to deter him from his happy frame of mind. He winks as she blows him the kiss, preening and feeling all 'chuffed.' His paintwork gleams brightly.

Then there's C-chan's suggestion about the date, and Swindle raises an optic ridge. He's about to ask Chromia to 'cut him a break' - maybe 'lose on purpose' - but then she goes and squashes the suggestion anyway.

And makes the last comment. And maybe at some other time, Swindle would have taken umbridge at such a retort, but today - on this perfect day - he laughs, as his panels rustle with a soft metallic sound.

He gestures towards Chromia. "Indeed!" he says. "So let's see what you got, huh?"

Though more than a little disappointed at her counterpart's strike against her offered reward, she turned to Chromia, pouting.

"What's wrong, sissy? Ah! I know!" She leaned in Chromia's direction, an inviting glare in her optics, "You'd be too jealous if you lost! [dreamy daydream voice] I didn't know you cared so much!" After giggling to herself, she looked up, knowing full and well the joke was for her own amusement only. "Joooking!" She finished, blowing a kiss to Chromia and winking ( ... )

She levels an unimpressed glower in Chromia-chan's direction. Then brushes off the pointless hostility with an exasperated shake of her helm.

At Swindle's reply, Chromia gives her optics a good long roll, moving off and over to the nearest shooting point. She grimaces at Chromia-chan's cheer and huffs out another audible sigh.

"Good to know" she grumps, covering the last bit of distance at a trudge before stopping at the line of the shooting point. She then glances back and says, "Hows about we keep this short and sweet eh? Two separate kliks each for shooting - whoever gets the most targets within the timespan wins."

It strikes her as the most sensible route - not to mention the quickest, thus improving the possibility of her getting away from here sooner and with more of her sanity intact.

Swindle's momentarily taken aback by the 'scolding' attitude. Oh no! He has appeared weak. But then she says that about love, and her optics are flooding with tears, and - oh dear - she doesn't think he's weak, he' just upset her. Again.

And now, Swindle wonders what has happened in Chromia-chan's own life to make her be so affected by his own fate. He, too, feels a connection, still touched by the empathy.

But her upset ....

"We don't have to talk about this if it makes things difficult," he says, taking her hand again and squeezing it as he looks into her optics. "It's not my intention to make it hard for you."

Swindle drops his head. "But since you ask, some Autobots killed him." His spark twists again; it still hurts, and not only Slinky's death but what came afterward with his team.

C-chan could feel Swindle's discomfort, his warmth coursing through her as he took her hand. Shaking her head, she looked up into his optics as he spoke, sadness emanating from his words. Autobots...she'd had her own grudges against them for sealing her in the Arctic, but this was so much worse than that...

She wiped her tears away with her free hand before reaching up to caress his face. It wasn't as if he were making her uncomfortable; she was just taken by sheer surprise by his broken sparkbond! Speaking softly, with empathy, C-chan smiled meekly, gazing into his glowing purple optics, "You're much stronger than I thought, to have lived through that..." She trailed, leaning up to kiss his warm lips deeply, passionately, afterward keeping her face close to his, whispering, "Let me help you."

Her meek smile stayed as she continued,

"I'm not uncomfortable. I'm just..." She looked down towards her hand as she begun running her fingers across his chest, "...doesn't it hurt?"

Swindle does the equivalent of blushing and looks down, still clutching Chromia-chan's hand. "Strong in some ways," he mutters. He supposes he is/was. He never really thought of it that way. More of the whole thing as 'weak,' because Vortex and Blast Off acted like it was ( ... )

If there was one thing she knew, it was that being so close to Swindle gave her a feeling of comfort - of...safety. He was a mech she could relate to, and Primus be slagged if he wasn't a great kisser!

Even as he answered her question, her spark was still pulsing, the feeling of his glossa still there. She...had never been kissed so passionately before! And the feeling of his hands coursing along her shoulders, keeping her steady, keeping her close - it was all she could do not to be completely consumed by the heat that was now emanating from her frame ( ... )
