[Trees were becoming close to ideal these days, especially the ones in the Nexus forest - they were tall, and sturdy, with thick branches that he could sprawl and stretch on without ever worrying if it would hold his weight. They made ideal places to rest and recharge, and they satisfied his beast mode's itching urge to climb things. They were also becoming wonderful places from which to watch the show unfold as far as the Nexus was concerned. This mech was obviously of his universe, or ... close enough anyway, tilting his head curiously as he regarded the... mixed-breed. Startled, Silverbolt looks around for the voice who has spoken to him, searching for a robot or a Cybertronian in an obvious beast form. He catches sight of the gorilla, but dismisses it at first as too ordinary-looking to be worth his attention. Only when he can't find any other mech on his scanners do his optics return to the gorilla and he watches it thoughtfully. Optimus Primal looked like a generic gorilla before he became a transmetal. And that voice... is it not familiar, even on the unfamiliar body?
Hello friend he says tentatively, looking right at the gorilla.
[He offers what he hopes is a reassuring smile towards the mech before he swings down from his branch and drops to the ground with a small grunt upon impact. He stands upright, resting his hands on his hips and trying not to look intimidating to the mech who was already rather frazzled by his awakening.]

[He casts a glance over the mech's form from a closer view... so much for that whole 'blending into your surroundings' thing their kind was most notable for...between blue metallic cheetahs with jets, rats with wheels, and now a wolf with wings, 'incognito' was obviously no longer a term they were familiar with.]

This wolf's wings twitch in surprise as the gorilla swings down and lands right in front of him. His eyes widen. At the question, he knows he should feel wary, not knowing the stranger's identity. But he exudes such an aura of warmth and safety, it seems impossible not to trust him. And is it just wishful thinking, or does he truly feel familiar?
I was in the middle of the time storm, watching helplessly as Megatron sought to murder the Autobots in their recharge and change the past... And then I awoke here. He nods gracefully. You could say I'm a little lost, indeed. He makes a small pause. My name is Silverbolt. And then, taking a chance with the unfamiliar mech, he adds I'm a Maximal.
[Eyes bulging as the huge... the giant mech lands before him, Silverbolt instinctively takes some steps back and flares out his wings, trying to make himself feel not quite as small and vulnerable as he is compared to the huge flier.]
I could ask you the same question! [he gasps, eyes comically wide.]
A real live Autobot... [Silverbolt's eyes widen even more in disbelief and wonder.] Inferno said there are Autobots in this place, but I never thought I'd see one...
[He suddenly remembers himself and straightens himself, folding his wings back neatly.] It's a great honour to meet you, Autobot Air Raid! My name is Silverbolt, I'm a Maximal from the crew of the Axalon under Optimus Primal's command.

[Silverbolt is still deep in thought from the answer he gave Optimus Primal when Cheetor's cheerful shout pulls him out of his thoughts. He looks up just in time to watch the feline mech land. While he is still in beast form, the difference to the Cheetor he knows isn't so large, he is still based on the same animal and he's already seen with Optimus that they don't all look as he remembers them... But then, when he gazes upon the transformed Cheetor, his eyebrows rise as high as possible in surprise and his ears go flat. He gapes, canine snout wide open.]
Cheetor? [he asks disbelievingly, barely daring to trust what his optics are telling him.]
Oh the mechs from the historical recordings were much, much taller. I believe the Omega Guardians were probably... mm... [Pauses to think, trying to recall his history lessons] Seventy... to ninety feet tall, I think? If an average mech was between fifteen and twenty... and the Omegas were about... four times as big as the average mech... anyway. [Flips his hand in a nonchalant dismissal] We may yet see the biggest of the Ancient Autobots if they continue to appear as we are here. And the Gestalts as well! [A excited sort of grin makes its way to the surface] Perhaps 'Silverbolt' is a family name for you in much the same way 'Optimus' is in my family. And if so, the Aerialbot Commander could be your direct ancestor - and he's here with his brothers so maybe you'll get to meet him

His wings are already folded back for take-off, his bird-like legs bent to push himself off the ground, when his ears pick up the sounds behind him.
He twists his head and then, as he catches sight of the giant red ant chasing the fluffy little bunny, his yellow eyes widen comically.
He twists around, wings flaring out behind him to shoot and hand reaching for a weapon in the same motion.

But he exudes such an aura of warmth and safety, it seems impossible not to trust him. And is it just wishful thinking, or does he truly feel familiar?
