Prompt: Squishies

Squishies? What a ridiculous thing to call them; I suppose a Decepticon came up with it then.

My thoughts on the humans... I'd rather avoid them if I could, they aren't a species to be underestimated. They've been rather hostile from what I've seen and heard, even before they became aware of us. Although it is unfortunate that we brought ( Read more... )

I recommend you stay away from the squishy 'Shakespeare' stuff. Especially Hamlet. That mech could not get off his aft and do the job of killing that other mech.

Huh, then again, sounds exactly like the sort of thing you Autobots would be in to.

*Refrains from any sarcastic commentary that could get him beaten*

Not everything can be solved with violence. I recall a time in our history when killing someone would get you punished, and not just because you happened to shoot someone wearing the same symbol as you.

*Sigh* I miss those days.

W-what exactly are you?

The humans I've seen had weapons they created on their own... mostly. I'm pretty sure these Maximals, who ever they are, didn't give the humans guns and explosives.

*Is not sure the insect robot is all there mentally*

I'm not going to get a straight answer from you am I? I will at least credit you that you are slightly less creepy than certain other insect based robots.

Well, if it isn't our resident spy--Hey Mirage~

Yeah, maybe it is a ridiculous thing to call them, but that doesn't make it any less true. They do go squish... Not--that I've actually squished any, but that's beside the point.

*huffs softly, shaking his head.*

We're struggling to stay functional and keep the humans from finding and disabling us, and you want to read their literature? Oh mech, I think you've got a few wires crossed somewhere.

I suppose if you were really desperate you could hijack one of their communications satellites and find something on their "internet" to read~

*waves his hand vaguely in the air.*

Though reading is better then just sitting around waiting to die, like some of them are.

Hello Sideswipe.

Calling them squishies is like them calling us clankies or clangers, or something else as equally immature.

And yes, I would like something to read when I have nothing else to do. We have no access to Cybertronian literature, so it wouldn't hurt to entertain myself with the humans' instead. Who knows, maybe reading about them would even give some insight into their species? It never hurts to know more about the hostile creatures set out on dismantling you. *Is totally making up excuses because really he just wants something intelligent and thought provoking to read. He's a bit of a bookworm*

Although I suppose their internet wouldn't be a bad alternative if I can't manage to get any of their actual literature.

*he shrugs, looking mildly amused.* Yeah, maybe it is a little immature, but it's not as bad as calling them watery bags of flesh, or something. C'mon... with everything else going on? I really don't see the big deal about the whole "squishy" thing.

I'm just payed to kill stuff. I'm not really sure how classical literature is going to solve our current problem. I mean, I might be interested if it was something really interesting...

*laughs* Yeah... and unless you can find a way to just waltz into a public library, I find it rather difficult to see how else you're going to get hold of any of that literature. Sure you're smaller then a lot of bots, but you're not going to cram your way through those doors. Though, I'll warn you now... they have some extremely--weird--stuff in their internet.

Perhaps I am getting a little worked up over the issue. Squishy just seems like a crude word to use, however, and brings up disgusting mental images.

Hmm, yes, it would be quite the test of my skills to sneak into a human establishment unnoticed. Granted, it would be an interesting exercise in stealth, but the risk outweighs the reward. Besides, those books of theirs look very fragile, I'm not sure I could handle them without causing damage.

I would be better off looking on their internet. Thank you for the warning, I'll keep that in mind and try to stay away from anything suspicious looking.

But I mean, they are kind of squishy. Well, there are hard things in them, but mostly it's all stuff that just goes all drippy if you squeeze to hard. And they ooze things, so really they are kind of squishy, so the name makes sense. Although I guess it is kind of gross, because they also don't squish everywhere unless they're damaged. So maybe it is kind of ridiculous, but not completely.

You look a lot like someone I know...

*Is completely repulsed at the disgusting description of how humans go squish*

They may be... squishy, but it still sounds like something a newspark would call them, not mature, intelligent mechs. Honestly if you're going to call a species something that demeans their sentience, can't it be a little more creative?

*Is a little wary of the very familiar color scheme*

O-oh. I guess maybe I said too much. But--I just try to say things the best way that I can. Hook says that accuracy is important! And Scrapper likes it when we communicate well. He says it's important.

...I'm not really a mature, intelligent mech. I mean, I'm not stupid because that's not allowed with the Constructicons, but I'm not the smart one either. So it probably doesn't matter, but I think that squishy is a fine word. I don't always use it, but I don't think there's anything really wrong with it.

And I'm--I'm Scavenger. Who are you?

Scavenger? Well, not often I can have an almost civil conversation with a Decepticon. Although some certainly like to pretend they have the class for it, until they receive one taunt too many and try to tear out your fuel lines.

...I'm Mirage.

*Glare* Well, we've seen where just stewing in your own thoughts leads.

And I'm sure you got plenty of enjoyment just watching him pummel me. Then again, you always were more of the hands-on sort when it comes to violence.

(OOC: I know Sunstreaker was more caught off guard when Ironhide started beating Mirage, not actually enjoying it, but 'Raj doesn't quite see it that way. And isn't he just so pretty when he's angry?)
