1. Cassette players aren’t the only types of human technology that logically, have ‘children’ (the cassettes). Microscopes have slides and different sets of lenses, don’t they? And microscopes show the contents of the slides like cassette players show the contents of cassettes.
2. Perceptor as a Dinobot.

I wonder who would throw back at him. For some reason I could see Arcee doing it. (Kinda like a "how dare you throw this at me!?" kinda thing.)
10. Unicron destroys every Cybertronian except for one, whom he takes a shine to. He holds that mech prisoner, doomed to watch from afar as the same universe is created and destroyed over and over... without him in it.
This would explain any G1 character that wasn't in any other incarnation of "Transformers".
14. Instead of being way younger than he looks, Perceptor is actually by far the oldest mech on Earth. In fact, he's the only mech who's ever survived long enough to experience the Cybertronian equivalent of death from old age.
...and this one would explain why he disappeared after "Face of the Nijika"... *is sad*

I'm expecting someone to say Perceptor any minute now...

Yep. Also expecting someone to suggest Perceptor for this one.

It could also be that Perceptor couldn't adjust to being back in his original form because he spent too much time as 'Nijika'. So he might have switched to a different form and changed his name...

See, I would, but we both know kirin-saga would want to. Why spoil fun for someone else?

But there WAS a character called Perceptor in either Armada or Energon! Drastically different dude, yes, but he was a Perceptor!
Plus, there are those rumours that Perceptor is going to show up in the next season of TF:Ani. I hope these rumours are true...

I like that explanation so much better, actually. (Maybe he went back to the Nijika body? He's like a Transformer transgender!)

Yes, I want to. And I did! *is predictable*

I saw a fic where Perceptor landed on a world with Minicons, got badly hurt, and was saved by placing his spark in a Gestalts body, thus creating Armada!Perceptor. I don't have the link but I think it was on the Lexicon.

Let me know if he does. I'll start watching it then.
... I hope he doesn't have one of those chins.

Now I want to see a fic where he didn't want to leave his Nijika body.

The telepathy! Wow, that really is kinda creepy. Soundwave and his cassettes have been busy.

2. AWWWW! It's so cute! *wants to see so very very much* He'd make a good Dinobot. Now the question is, was he created as a Dinobot or reformatted as one? If the latter, why was he reformatted? Was he injured? Did Shockwave someone get it into their heads to create a Dinobot, but for some reason was either unwilling or unable to get a new spark? Or maybe they wanted to create an intelligent Dinobot and took the spark of the smartest person they knew? Was Perceptor willing or not? I imagine he'd be fascinated with the process but would he really be willing to give up his microscope altmode? And how does Grimlock and the other Dinobots feel about this new addition ( ... )

3. Sudden cracky idea. What with mechs getting pregnant and all…
Actually, I think that's totally reasonable, especially considering the fandom theory that there's no real gender difference between mechs and femmes (as one writer phrased it, they all have the same plugs and ports).
8. (Art or fic) Ratchet cowering before someone else’s wrench-throwing rage.
I'd love to see First Aid being the one doing it.

Despite examples like Alpha Trion (I mean, what logic is there to facial reconstruction to give himself a beard?) I really imagine that a Cybertronian good stay in good condition for a very long time, as long as they could afford their regular maintenance and repairs and stay in good working order and "young" despite being thousands of vorns older than almost anyone else. This theory however brings into ( ... )
