THIS. Seriously, whenever the government started ranting about how the war on Earth was All The Autobots Fault, I really wished someone would point out that really, the humans started it first. Megatron hadn't actually done anything (to the humans) except crash on to Earth and get trapped in the ice. It was Sector Seven that kept him confined for experiments for years, all the while knowing he was a sentient creature. And then they tried to do the same to Bumblebee. Oh yeah, real innocent.

Honestly, if the Autobots hadn't shown up and the 'Cons had found and freed Megatron, I could easily see Megatron razing at least a few cities to the ground, if not the entire planet, simply for the treatment he suffered.

ooh! which makes you (or at least me) wonder: was he conscious during his imprisonment? And how much did he feel? Did he know everything that happened to him or just a vague idea...?

I always thought him to be conscious to a point during his imprisonment, or at least for a good segment of it. When he breaks free and shouts, "I am Megatron!", it didn't seem like a generic declaration to me.

Makes more sense that it was a correction to the humans who had been calling him NBE-1 for decades than for it to be a reaffirmation of his identity. Notice, too, that he said it in English. He got the language real fast off the web, or he picked it up over years.

Yeah, I was kinda thinking that too. I mean, in my mind at least, I imagine Megatron to have been unconscious up until Archibald Witwicky. At that point, he was aware of everything they were doing to him, but couldn't do anything about it.

And I would write this from his POV if I didn't have too much on my plate already and I could think of something substantial.

Ok, this bunny is seriously biting me in the butt (because really, the humans are SO in debt to the Transformers in general), so I'm attempting to write it, though I'm not sure how well it'll go, especially as it'll be the first Transformers thing I've ever written.

I really want to see this! I have a similar thing in a story I'm planning. Let's just say for once I'm glad Galloway exists. He provides a very good scapegoat for the pathetic flesh creatures humans.
