After recent discussions with Sanjuno about Optimus's sense of honour, my first thought goes with choice A and the idea that as he's starting to get back his memories he starts seeing how the Decepticons have, over the course of the war, gone from being freedom fighters trying to get rid of a corrupt and oppressive government to being vicious and cruel tyrannical movement that is worse than the Council and the Senate were before the war. This incites him to try and do something to convince Megatron that he's gone off track and maybe finally end the war.

Her 'verse, Optimus is more likely to bypass Megatron all together and make a treaty with Vos, with Elita maybe acting as the Autobots' primary diplomat (since she's a wingless Skyborn).
