Deaf ears or not, I had fun putting my two cents in. And the funny part? I don't even really *like* the movies that much, I mean they're okay but I don't go nuts. However, I do enjoy the fic, and I absolutely will not have *anyone* telling me what's 'normal' or 'acceptable'. Heck, my husband still shakes his head at the whole fanfic thing itself. I don't really care what people think of me or if they know me, I'm always ready to enter a debate, even if I'm a lone voice. :D

After a year and a half of this kink, I've started to forget how normal people would view it; it's funny to get these reminders. Like, "Oh, right, most people think the idea of robot porn is weird. I remember that."

Given that yaoi itself is pretty out-there for most people, the scorn and "wtf" seems a little overdone. And how hard can it be to understand - they're big, they're strong, they turn into sports cars. What more could you want?

I think we can safely say that there's a dose of overdone "oh my gosh, did you see that?!?" dramatics to the post, for the sake of effect & whatnot, in order to draw out the like-minded people to comment and indulge in gasping over how mind-bending the whole concept is. It's a pretty easy route to take for posts such as that one. =)

All I can say is.. seriously. Fandom irrelevant, this is the INTERNET. There's weirder porn involving humans out there and half the time you find it when you're not even looking for porn. Why, I ask? Whhyyyy? T_T

As for the fandom thing... well, people's own favorite fandoms are always normal, don't you know? ;)

Every once in a while I'm reminded that even though I've been in this fandom long enough to not blink twice at the kinkiest stuff the kink meme has spawned, a good portion of the rest of the world finds even the most vanilla of Transformers porn to be entirely too weird.
