yay new piece! definitely made it a worthwhile endeavor to cruise my flist before crashing after a long night of work.
Tony's... being Tony. and i'd love to know how the government is going to deal with giant alien footprints on the moon the next time some other country sends a shuttle into space. *snicker*
The one thing I like about this story and a few previous others is the way Sam, Will, and Tony can access technology in ways humans can't. I don't know where the three find the strength to accept this, but I don't think I would ever be able to. As usual, a great chapter and even greater story.
well, for Tony it's the Extremis 'virus'. I'm staying with the canon of the comics here. When he injected it, the nano virus reprogrammed his brain to accept and be able to use the changes. Tony himself was dying at the time.
Sam needed a long time to come to terms with his abilities. He had no control and it backfired more often than not. By now he's more sure and comfortable with them.
And Will... he's still none too happy about what happened to him. The good thing for him is: no freaky moments of interfacing with technology. The bad side: he has no idea what else he can do or what could happen next.
I probably missed it in my eagerness to get to cute Sam/Bee-y goodness, or witty Hot Rod and Tony moments but do the Ghost-2 and the Ark have artificial gravity?
(Sam climbing in and sleeping in Bee is adorable btw)
The Ghost-2 doesn't. I never mentioned it, but she doesn't. The mechs have clamped down to stop floating around the cargo hold and the humans are usually strapped in for the rather short flight.
The Ark has and they all profit from it ;) I think I never mentioned it... but from the books I had the impression they walk normally inside their ship, so yes.
'Cause I read the part saying that Bee had taken Sam back to the Ghost-2 to rest, and Sam thinks about how it's tech, but familiar tech so it's not causing him problems, and then Bee transforms and my first thought is "Awwww" but then my second thought is "Why aren't they floating?"

Well, they might send a cleaning team up next time around... y'know, hide the footsteps ;)
