Ok. Officially over the winter thing.

M is finally home. Seven hours after he left work.

His commute normally takes about 45 minutes.

So, though things are fairly reasonable here at the moment (it snowed, then rained, now it's snowing again) the path between here and B'ham is icky, as is B'ham itself (the city of which apparently does not own a snowplow. WTF ( Read more... )

So, thanks to the ugly windstorm Wednesday, power at the bachelor pad was knocked out for about 12 hours. Because this meant that the elevator and parking garage gate were down, and we had no heat, I ended up staying in a motel Weds. night so I could have a safer place to sleep and get a shower. Please to be stopping with the 51 mph gusts, tyvm. These are very unpleasant and disconcerting when one lives on the third floor and can feel the building swaying slightly.

Also, they will suck when I have to hike to class and that will make me cranky.

It's gray and misty today. Reminds me of where I live. All this relentless sunshine--in October!--has been weird.

Hanging out here at the bachelor pad for a little while, then heading home, where I get to spend the whole weekend in CSS bootcamp.
