The Expo sounds very interesting. And heh, some of our staff use GIS software from ESRI, I never had anything to do with it myself though. Is it used a lot in reporting?

It's looks like you're not going to have any free time with the Expo, but if you do, take a walk in GG Park, go visit Jack's Record Cellar (corner Page and Scott), and, sensibilities permitting, visit the Zoo (I know lots of people are philosophically opposed to zoos; the one is SF is a good one if you aren't). I was going to give you the link to a B&B on the Panhandle that's cheap by SF standards (because it's a private apartment, you have to make your own breakfast, etc.) but it seems to be gone; at any rate there's no link online to be found now, sigh.
All of which is to say, I'm jealous - I wanna go home to SF right now, I could do with the energy boost! Sigh....since it's you going, not me, all I can say is the above. If you have time, which you probably won't.

I'm staying at a hotel on the BART line near Moscone. I'll probably be doing little more than sleeping and roaming the convention floor, unfortunately.

Yeah, it sounds like it - too bad! Hopefully you'll at least get to have a glimpse of the ocean at some point along the way....
