First of all, welcome to the very first proper round at this community, and thanks for joining in on the competition! :D
Now, let's begin with the very first challenge... We will hopefully get to post the rest of the challenges within the next few weeks, allowing you to work on the icons a bit longer than in the test round :)

so i take it that cos there is no grey "entered" by my name that my icon is no being entered,right? ok but a message would have better and more clearer. thanks tho

there was a gray "entered" (still is, though I take it as you deleted your entry you wanted to leave as well?), yours was the second icon that we got in... maybe the shade of gray is too bright on your screen and you didn't see it?
We check the entries on a daily basis, so if after 2 days you didn't get a comment from us telling you we can't accept your icon, then we did accept it.

challenges should be open for at least 5 days, but since we're posting them earlier and not necessarily in the right order, the deadlines are always 7 days apart (every Friday), and votings should be open till Monday, unless there's a bunch of ties or not enough votes, then of course they can be extended^^

so, challenge #2 should close 14. March :)
