I read the Freakonomics blog quite regularly, but I almost never bother to read the comments. Mainly that's because my reader has so many feeds on it that I'd never get through anything if I were to read comments in addition to the skimming of a couple dozen blogs every day.

I've been sort of thinking about this subject for awhile, but it's somewhat difficult to articulate my thoughts on it. It has to do with identity and who you are and naming. Decades ago, my father took care of the father of a famous race car driver. In two weeks, I'm headed to Austin to participate in Planned Parenthood's Lobby Day. I did this two years ago, and absolutely loved it.
