I've been listening to the 2007 Bootie mashups mix recently and really enjoyed the Chemical Brothers/Imperial March mix. I had no idea that was your boyfriend.

His mashup of the Rock the Casbah and one of the Killers' songs may be my favorite mashup ever.

It's not something he did. It's just one that he happens to have for his own use. He played it, though, at a party in December, and he ended up having to replay it within the hour because the crowd loved it so much.

We'll have to hunt down that other one. I love both of those songs and he's so damned good that I can't imagine that the mashup isn't awesome.

Scroll down to the bottom and there are links to three full CDs' worth of excellent mashups, including those two. Awesome, awesome stuff.

I used to have a lot more, but I lost all my music in 2004 when I had a major hard drive malfunction (it was killed by a lighting strike) and I only got back into looking for mashups recently.

Oooh thanks!

I have about 15,000 songs on my external harddrive. A good hunk of them--maybe 70 percent--are "backed up" in the original CDs that I bought over the years, but if anything were to happen to my external harddrive, I'd be well fucked. I really need to get a good backup system.
