I look like a jedi today. I'm wearing my long tan sweatercoat that sort kinda looks like a cross between a bathrobe and a jedi cloak. Needless to say, it's extremely comfortable. I do have the urge to start moving things with my mind, but so far no good

A person I used to work with's father-in-law is quite a bigwig in the field of sustainable agriculture. We were talking one day about agriculture and more specifically corn. In the course of the conversation about genetic engineering and pesticides and everything else, she brought high fructose corn syrup as one of the many uses of corn that helps prop up the demand for the crop. She went on to mention that there's a school of thought that, among other things, the rising rate of diabetes can be tied into the ever present use of corn syrup as a sweetener because it has different properties is digested differently than good old-fashioned sugar

here in eugene there are some carswith bumperstickers that they use used cooking oil (like from restaurants). i think that is maybe different than biodiesel, but i am not usre.

the corn everywhere is scary when you are as allergic to corn as me :(

I just heard a bit on the news today about a guy who is making bio-deisel form coffee grinds and that it will be cheaper and easier than other way. It was a 15 second piece, so that's all I know.
