No wonder I've never found you scary. I do the same thing. My best friend in high school once got pissed off at me for finding newspaper clippings that the Milltown Brothers were from Leicester and not Manchester. Though I see how it could be intimidating to someone not willing to put in the research.

The Bronze taught me how to formulate and back up an argument at the age of 14. It was seriously some of the best training I've received in life.

Unfortunately it's left me with unrealistically high standards when it comes to discussions, both online and IRL. Why are people intimidated by evidence? And by having a stance and being prepared to back it up rather than being challenged on something and going "Oh, I don't know, maybe you're right" rather than having an actual debate about your opinions? What's the point in having an opinion if you're not prepared to defend it?

In conclusion: yay scariness! Yay!
