i grew up with the hastings-elsik rivalry, and since my brothers and i all went to hastings, you can guess who we would root for. it was always the most intense week...more than homecoming or anything else. i remember a guy actually wrote "fuck elsik" on his back windshield and got pulled over by police for it. the first time elsik beat hastings was my freshman year. it was a sad day, but hey..you win some, you lose some. my older brother blamed my entrance into hastings for the loss. meh. however, we don't have the whole tailgate alumni thing going on. sheesh...i think the actual game would begin before kickoff if alumni tailgated.
