Well, I can't say I'm too surprised with the primary results. I see that the good Republicans of Ft. Bend county want to keep Motherfucking jackass Tom DeLay, though it was pointed out this morning on NPR that it doesn't really matter, because he's still under indictment, he's still facing ethics charges, he's still best buddies with Tom Abramoff ( Read more... )

I would bet that DeLay would now deny ever meeting Abramoff! And blame the liberal media for publishing photos of him and Abramoff.

In the lovely redistricting, I got taken out of Nick Lampson's district and placed into DeLay's. I'm in the very last few blocks of Harris county that on the line with Galveston county (so they could include Bay Brook mall). I'm in Harris county literally by 4 blocks. And they pulled Galveston into his area as well. That's a mainly Democratic area, less wealthy (except for Shore Acres and the Clearlake/League City area, and already under representation.

My problem was that I wanted to get rid of DeLay but didn't want to vote Republican. I ended up being busy and not voting this time. I'm going to be voting in the run-off and the general for sure.

...DeLay actually did worse in Fort Bend than in any of the other three counties in CD22. See here for more. He got only 55% of the vote in his home county.
