Dress panic--why my boobs are always the problem

So, my dress got here on Friday, and when I put it on with the strapless bra I happened to have, it looked great.  Minor adjustments and alterations needed (especially to get the dress shortened), but it by and large fit pretty well, especially in the bustline.

The bra wasn't all that great though, so I ordered a long line bra from Herroom to ensure that everything didn't move.   I ordered my usual size, though there was some discussion in the reviews about how a lot of people liked to order up a band size and down a cup size to make it fit better.

The bra got here yesterday, and when I tried the dress on with the bra, it was awful.  The cups were HUGE, and the dress did not cover them.  The front didn't lay flat on my body under my breasts, but tented out istead, and I felt like I was wearing a maternity dress.  Some pulling and tucking helped a little, but I went to bed feeling absolutely terrible, because I wasn't sure if this could be fixed.  I thought that maybe I could scrounge enough frequent flyer milage to fly to Seattle and see if Chrissy could fix it somehow, but I wasn't sure if I had the time (my wedding is four weeks from tomorrow).

Then, this morning, I tried the dress on again with the strapless bra, and it looked fine again.  I realized that those massive cups were causing the main problem.

So I'm sending the bra back for a smaller cup size, and I'll probably order another strapless bra, just to be on the safe side.

And I'm making an appointment with a tailor to alter the dress a little, because I think part of the problem is that the dress is slightly large under the bustline.  I think if it were taken in a bit, I wouldn't have the tenting problem.   I can't have the dress altered, though, until I have the bra that I'm going to wear with it.

Up until now, there hasn't been much in the way of stress in the wedding planning, but this just terrified me.  I'm hoping that I can get it fixed well enough so I can feel as pretty in the dress as I did the first time I tried it on.

aaah!
