Before Jason had some to see him, Tim had been having a bad morning. He spent the night awake with bad stomach pains and then spent the morning throwing up again, though thankfully not blood this time. Enough for them to declare he had a mild fever, though, and enough to hook him up to another IV with antibitoics this time... just in case, but they ( Read more... )

Sam had taking to creeping in and out of his room. She was used to either finding him asleep, or leaving while he was asleep. So even when Tim was awake, she crept.

She hovered at the end of his bed and watched him as she clenched her hands into fists, seeing him in pain making her hurt. Sam wanted to know how his talk with J had gone, and there were other things for her to talk to him about, but first and foremost she wanted him to be okay. Sam reached out to take a tissue from the box beside his bed and dipped a part of it in water before she gently took his hand away and wiped it across his brow. It wasn't perfect, but it would do.

"I'm alright," Tim assured her and rested his arm across his stomach. "They're just sayin' it's..." He paused, almost contemplating to just tell her it was a fever, but that wasn't going to work. She would worry more and probably think he was getting worse, not better. "Withdrawals."

"Doesn't mean ya can't get looked after," Sam murmured quietly as she leaned down to kiss a spot just under his eye. She gave a small nod at his admittance, and glanced back at the door to check they weren't about to be interrupted. "They say how long it's gonna last?"

"A week or so," Tim mumbled, talking from experience rather than doctor's advice. It had never been this bad before but he figured it was because he was already ill. "They can't really do nothin' 'bout it. Just gotta deal. It's alright. Done it before."

Sam bit back a smile as she looked at Tim. "So ya wouldn't mind if me and Mac took her down in the parkin' lot and beat her up? Ya know, if she's ever stupid enough t'show her face again."

Tim gave a faint smirk. "Mac's a cop. She can't afford t'be beatin' people up in the street." He looked at her seriously. "I would you feel if I spoke to her? Lyla, I mean. There's some things I need t'say t'her and I'd rather tell her m'self that it's well over."

"J and Mac asked me the same question," Sam replied as a way to stall on giving him her answer. "Look, it ain't my place t'tell ya who ya can, and can't talk to. If ya wanna talk t'her, ya wanna talk t'her. If she hurts you though..."

"She ain't gonna hurt me. There ain't anythin' she can do t'hurt me. Words certainly ain't gonna do it," Tim assured her. "I can't change m'past with her, S. I can try an' stop her interferrin' in our future, though."
