Sandra sat in the waiting room at the doctor’s office, fidgeting anxiously. The doctor was running late, and she just needed to know. She’d been feeling sick to her stomach, off and on, for a few weeks, and she just knew something serious was going on. She didn’t get nauseous, not often. And never, ever lasting this long.

Finally, she got called back into an examination room. )

"Pregnant?" The stony face that he was used to having shattered in that instant to give way to confusion. "Hold that thought," he scratched the back of his head and started looking for that camera from the bookshelf to the kitchen counter.

Sheldon stopped in mid sentence. His mind ceased. His previous thoughts seemed to take on a surreality that he wasn't prepared for. Then he recalled the days where they made love and sighed in relief. "Did he say when your next appointment would be?" Then a pause as he walked across the room to take Sandra's hands. "I wanna be there."

"Well, I'm not entirely young myself. I just look it. This certainly means a whole new change for the both of us and the risks...are you sure you want to go through with it? I'll do what I can to support you, you know I will....I hope." He chuckled sheepishly.

"Or...what we can do...well...something I'll have to do is make a conscious decision to do this right." He wasn't about to let her do this completely alone and now that all cards were on the table, he had to decide before too much time passes.

That last bit made her pause. "You ain't pressured ta do anythin', hon," she whispered. "I was ready ta do this alone..."

His expression was still in mild shock from so much happening all at once, to him it seemed ironic that he was desked shortly before hearing this news. "I'm still trying to process it. It's kinda surreal and very involved now. I hope to god he or she doesn't come out as ugly as me." He chuckles softly.
