Retaliation in the face of attack is fine and good, but it has nothing to do with Iraq.
Patriotism and supporting the war do not go hand in hand, and patriotism and opposition to the war are not mutually exclusive. It's offensive for you to suggest that it is.
I would also like to point out that this war has increased anti-American sentiment, the number one cause of terrorism. It isn't even a war on terrorism, it's a war on terror - watch the rhetoric that is used and think about it.
Finally, neo-hippies? Honestly, all kinds of people are opposed to the war, from republicans to democrats, libertarians and socialists. No need to use a false title.
It has everything to do with Iraq and the whole region. It's a breeding ground of terrorism, and even if it wasn't, Saddam needed to go. If you were an Iraqi citizen, probably one watching your children starve or become sick from dirty water (maybe if you were 'lucky' you'd be kidnapped and raped by the royal family and your own family killed), i doubt you'd hate america for stepping in. and we were attacked, plain and simple. do you think the terrorists around the world will stop if we decide to pull out of iraq? that will do nothing but give them back the country and how that america is a country of cowards. or perhaps you dont think the death of 3000 americans was an attack? you'll say that has nothing to do with iraq, but do you honestly think any president would risk a war for no reason? i highly doubt you have access to better intelligenc than the commander in chief

How can you say that Iraq is so important when what is going on in Sudan is even worse? How do we justify when to butt in and when to stay out? Regardless, it doesn't change the fact that we got into this war on faulty pretenses. First it was terrorism, even though Saddam outright opposed Al Queda. Then it was WMDs, even though Bush later admitted that there was never any info to support that blatantly false assumption. Now the justification of "stopping the terrorists" is being used. Well guess what - terrorism will NEVER be stopped because it is not the nature of humanity to get along, and when you are a member of a country that is as hegemonic as we are, we will always have groups that are opposed to us. Does that mean that we should butt into every region that quite possibly holds those terrorists and start forcing Western ideology on them? And even if we should - how does that justify alienating our allies? You admit that it has increased anti-American sentiment outside of that region - but that's just as important.

Never once did i say that iraq was the only place in the world with injustice. fighting more than one war at a time, however, wouldnt be smart militarily or politically. we had our reasons for iraq, even though we the public may not have access to all the information. our allies remind me of the allied powers pre world war 2, not realizing action is necessary. look where that got us. and if it came right down to it, they most certainly could not band against us. our military is such that it wouldnt be possible for them to win a war against us. trust me, im actually in it. and banding against the united states would be disaster for the world economy
