Oooh yeah. 'Those'. You figured after the amount of times their projects either backfired, got loose or just plain went wrong somehow they'd have the common sense to stop.
[Ryou snickers and takes a nice, bitter mouthful of the 'wake up juice'.]
Then next time don't get damaged so much if you have that much of a problem with it.
[This coming from the former pro racer/model who had come back from that mission with barely a scratch on her machine. Ah the benefits of a Super Robot.]
[Castellan pulled out his smoke and gave a smile. It was obvious he took it as a compliment regardless of the true nature of the statement.]
You're welcome. It's my duty to ensure business keeps booming, especially for my lovely juniors.
[He then takes a seat and gives her words some thought.]
There's no making everyone happy and I'm not obligated to do so. Good news is that those ex-worshipers will be after the company that hired me instead of just me.
[It was the benefits of being a hired gun and he was obviously quite proud of it.]

Mind budging over? Just want to take a look at what the 'job market' is looking like.
[And here's Ryou, mug of coffee in hand and a small grin on his face. Then he raises an eyebrow.]
Wait a second.... that one... that one over there...
[He points a particular mission out.]
Is Kisaragi trying to get some schmuck to clean up another 'mess'?
[The way he said mess... oh that ought to bring up memories of some horror stories Naiza may have heard.]
Reply
It's what you'd expect, more people getting mad at the corpo--
[That's when her little rant gets cut off by Ryou.]
Mess? You mean those...
[Oh she remembers...doesn't want to though...]

What do you think? Insectile or Cephalapod?
Reply
...Cephalopod. The insect-types might've been better if they were serious about these things, but they've done more of those.
Kisaragi will always be Kisaragi, though. So it wouldn't surprise me if they tried something new...
[The question is, what could those crazy guys come up with?]

If you're having that much trouble paying for repairs try to not waste so much ammo next time.

When it comes to money, having more is better than having less.
[She pauses.]
You seem to know a lot more about my job than I do, though. Maybe you should give it a try sometime.

Ho...
[Coming up silently from behind with a cigar and poking his nose into other peoples business again.]
Heh not a bad choice. Nothing like population control missions.
[Placing his hands in his pockets he remembers his older days when he did the same.]
These missions pay good but won't help you in the future.
[He was implying that there would be little to gain from fighting amateurs when later faced with stronger foes.]

...I guess you're right. But there's been more and more of these coming up lately. We have you to thank for that, you know.
[She sighs.]
These people aren't satisfied just being freed from the Controller. And then we have the butthurt worshipers...

Or...do you really make decisions on that scale based on reward alone?
[It did sound like she was just being snarky, but at the same time, it seemed that she was hoping for something more...]

Shame it's only Devon then.]
It's not time you'd be killing.

I know, it's money.
Muscle Tracers are commonplace in Layered, but these people do manage to get a few of the more annoying models sometimes.
Maybe I'll test out that new laser rifle then, even if it isn't my thing.

[Congrats Naiza, now the tall Shifter is all in your face.]
Attacking innocents. If you ever even consider picking up such an assignment, you will find this place suddenly turning very unhospitable.
Reply
It's already very inhospitable as it is; so that won't change much.
But, I'm not here because I want to be. You can take that up with Global Cortex.
