I was wondering if you could help me with something, actually.

Oh? What can I do that the Dark Knight can't?

[The Dark Knight plunks down the Virgo Zodiac Stone on the table.]

Do you know what this is?

[He sets the glass down, and picks up the stone examining it, turning it over in his hands - giving a quiet knock]

[From one of Indy's innumerable blushing female students in the front row comes a timid question.]

Um, if you don't mind me saying so, professor, weren't there ancient civilizations even more magically advanced then ours? S-stories like the Hourai Elixir or Valois or the kirin come from somewhere, right?

[Indy writes something on the board - a basic seal]

While I will say there are lost magical rituals and artifacts - I would be hard-pressed to assume they are more advanced by default. As for the legends of that we know of, we so far have no evidence that they actually exist.

It's a nice idea to believe potions of immortality, or chimeras that grant wishes exist, but you have to examine the details and ask questions. As for how they came about, it's as simple as misidentifying an animal, or just a persistent hopeful wish, or even a con man telling a very good story.

Or...they could be real and someone just hasn't found them yet, right?

[Kusuha just wants her golden unicorn ponies dammit]

While possible, it is unlikely. In a field like this, you have to be prepared to expect disappointment when reality doesn't match up with legend. But there are many extraordinary things to learn that does not have to be in the realm of the fantastic.

[Indy instinctively drew out the Bullwhip to counter since he doesn't want to move up to actually shooting anyone yet]

That's not a way to greet someone.

[Smiling Souji points his long sword at Indie. ]

Heh, you got a good grasp on the situation. What are you doing snooping around in here?

And more importantly, what do you really think you can do with that?

[The whip hangs limply, but it doesn't take much for it to be deadly in skilled hands]

The Jade Urn.

[Indy toss his head to gesture at the artifact behind Souji]

It belongs in a Museum.
